meet the teachers

Isabelle Desnoyers

OWNER + FOUNDER

I, Isabelle (she/her) founded Yoga at the Farm in 2018, after falling in love with the Farm’s beautiful atmosphere and dreaming of bringing a practice to life in its space. It’s been such a pleasure to watch the community grow over the years. Since starting Yoga at the Farm, I’ve moved to Bath, managed a yoga studio in Kingston, founded Artizen Oils, and am currently diving headfirst into the study of Osteopathy. My practice is heavily influenced with my growing knowledge of anatomy, physiology and nature, with a strong focus on accessibility and curiosity. Expect clear and concise queues, a reminder not to take yourself too seriously, and a warm welcome from my dog, Doug.

Joanna Castles

Jo (she/her) has been teaching in the Kingston community since 2016. Trained in a variety of yoga styles from hatha and vinyasa, to yin and restorative, Jo loves to learn, focusing on being a student first. Jo's classes incorporate breath awareness, sensation exploration and mindfulness. She strives to create classes that are fun, challenging and accessible. No flexibility or yoga experience required!

Nava Dabby

Nava (she/her) has been practicing yoga since she was a student in Montreal. After settling into the Modo Yoga community, she became a Modo Yoga teacher, as well as a part owner at Modo Yoga St Clair West in Toronto. Currently her day job is as COO of Modo Yoga International.

In addition to her training in Modo, Modo Flow, Modo Advanced & Modo Prenatal, Nava has had the privilege of studying Yin Yoga with Bernie Clark and Joe Barnett, Restorative Yoga with Scott Davis & Pat Harada Linfoot, and Yoga Therapy with Susi Hately. She loves to pair her classes with a killer playlist.

With an academic background in international development and environmental studies, Nava has traveled extensively and loves cycling, hiking and backpacking all over the world. When she’s not practicing yoga or working for Modo, you can find her listening to records or exploring the great wilderness of her adopted province of Ontario with her husband Alex, and their sons, Leo & Ezra.

Valerie Sencan

Valerie started practicing yoga regularly in 2018, after graduating university as a registered nurse. Since then, she has dedicated herself to the practice on and off her mat. Yoga has a way of seeping off the mat into regular daily activities, and it is this magic that keeps Val returning to her practice. With a love of health and wellness, Val completed her YTT early August 2023. She is grateful to have a space to share the sorcery of yoga and what her mentors taught her about breath, balance and focus.
